In our office, for the convenience of our patients, at Today’s Dental in Livingston, Texas, we offer the full procedure and placement of a dental implant. Dental implants are recent dental developments that have allowed us to replace a tooth or even multiple teeth once they have been pulled or fallen out. Receiving a dental implant is a surgical procedure that has many dental, medical, and life benefits.

The entire dental implant is made up of generally two main parts, the implant, and the restoration. Whether you are looking to replace one tooth or many teeth, you will have to go through a surgical procedure to receive the implant. This is the main portion of the dental implant that will keep your restoration in place and give you your new smile.

So what is the implant? The implant is a small titanium rod that will be surgically placed into the jaw bone in the space where you desire your new tooth. This rod will act as the new artificial “root” of your new tooth. Part of this rod will be inserted into the jaw bone, and another part will be right above the gums to attach to the artificial tooth.

Implants are used to give foundation to many different types of restorations depending on the patients’ specific needs. Whether you are missing one tooth or many, we have restoration for you.

Single-Tooth Restoration: Single-tooth restorations are a procedure that we do frequently here in our office. This consists of one implant and one tooth restoration. Your new tooth is custom-made to fit the exact anatomy of your other teeth in size and shade. A new tooth, once made, is placed onto the implant and secured.

Implant-Supported Bridge: A dental bridge is an attached row of artificial teeth made to replace natural teeth that have been lost. Bridges can be supported by dental implants to provide extra support and stabilization.

Implant-Supported Dentures: Full dentures can be made to be secured onto several dental implants to have a more permanent restoration.

If you have been missing a tooth or even a couple and you are wanting your full smile restored, please contact Today’s Dental here in Livingston, Texas.
